Jason Herrmann

Jason Herrmann ’02 is beginning his third season as an assistant coach with the men’s volleyball team here at his alma mater.

As a student, Herrmann was a member of the team for the 2001 and 2002 seasons, and played at Moraine Valley Community College for the 1999 and 2000 seasons.

Now, Herrmann gained experience coaching and running teams at various levels throughout his career. His high school coaching experience includes being the boys’ head coach and the girls’ assistant coach at Joliet West High School from 2007 to 2016. He served as the boys’ and girls’ head coach at Plainfield Central High School from 2002 to 2007 and was also an assistant coach at Carl Sandberg High School in 2002.

Along with his coaching experience, Herrmann worked for other volleyball organizations as well. He was the assistant boys’ club director at Uno Volleyball Club from 2010 to 2012 before coaching their 16’s and 18’s teams from 2012 to 2017. He was also the Midwest regional director for Volleyball Professionals Camps and Classes from 2000 to 2010 while also serving as the tournament director for the EVP Beach series from 2005 to 2006.

Herrmann earned a master’s degree in instructional technology from Nova Southeastern University after earning a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Trinity. He also earned his driver’s education administrative certificate from Lewis University.

Currently, Herrmann resides in Homer Glen, Ill. with his wife Jennifer and four sons, Luke, Andrew, Joseph and Eric.
