Trinity Christian College

Kristen Shimko will begin her first season as an assistant coach with the women's basketball team. She brings extensive experience as a player and coach to this role. 

Before coming to Trinity, Shimko was the head coach at Morton College, where she served for one season. She led the Panthers to a 10-19 record. Prior to coaching at Morton, she was an assistant coach to her father at Argo High School. 

Along with her experience as a coach, Shimko brings plenty of experience as a player. She was a member of the Concordia University Chicago basketball team for four seasons. During her high school career at Plainfield North High School, she was an IHSA three-point participant three times. Along with that, she received the Plainfield North Outstanding Student-Athlete award.

Currently, she is an academic advisor at Morton College. Shimko earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Concordia University Chicago in 2016. She resides in Hickory Hills, Illinois.
