Box Score The Trinity baseball team continued with competition at the RussMatt Invitational in Florida as they faced the Grace College Lancers, who they lost to in their only contest of the day.
The Lancers took the lead from the start, scoring nine runs in the first three innings. From there, the Trolls tried to come back, scoring two of their own in the first four. However, Grace continued to extend the lead and not give the Trolls many opportunities, resulting in a 6-18 loss.
Freshman Hunter Slaats scored two of Trinity's six runs while seniors Josh Caceres, Sam Herzog, Brandon Riemersma and Morgan Nowitzki scored the remaining four. Riermersma and senior Liam Blake both tied for the most RBI's with two. Junior Jordan Rhodes pitched the last two innings for the Trolls, recording the most strikeouts of the four pitchers who were on the mound for the Trolls with four.
Trinity now has an overall record of 2-7. They will be back in action today as they face University of Michigan-Dearborn in a double header. The first game is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Eastern.
