Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Early second half goals from Brianna Uhl and Selah Hopkins put the Trinity Christian College women's soccer team up 2-0 on Friday, Nov. 5 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Quarterfinals, but Holy Cross College wasn't done. The Saints recorded back-to-back goals, in the 72nd and the 77th minute of action to knot the score and send the match into overtime. After two scoreless extra periods, the match was going to be decided in a shootout.
Up 4-3 with their final attempt to clinch the match, the Holy Cross player's shot hit the post and opened the door for the Trolls. Hopkins tied the shootout at 5-5 with an easy shot to the corner. After a diving save from Gillian Alberto, the Trolls put Kara Amidon on the line for the win. She sent a rocket to the back of the net that set Schaaf Athletic Complex into a frenzied celebration. Trinity would advance 5-4 into the semifinal round.
