Davenport, Iowa - After weather tossed the Trinity Christian College baseball (5-12, 1-3 CCAC) schedule into disarray last week, the Trolls went on the road Monday afternoon and fell to St. Ambrose (12-4, 3-1 CCAC), 8-1. Trailing just 2-0 in the third inning, Trinity gave up four runs in the sixth frame and couldn't overcome the six run deficit. 

The Trolls scored their lone run of the game in the eighth inning on a double off the bat of junior Tyler Petersen. Freshman Alex Avila scored on the double. He had a great day at the plate going 2-for-3 with a run scored. 

Trinity had just five hits in the game and committed four errors. In the fifth inning, with Trinity trailing 1-0, a fielding error allowed a run to score and make it 2-0. Junior Jake Ostrowski earned the loss despite a great performance on the bump. He went five innings and allowed two runs. Only one was earned. 

In the sixth inning, with one out, the St. Ambrose rally began with a bunt single. A hit batter, followed by a stolen base and a wild pitch opened the flood gates for St. Ambrose. They took advantage of two wild pitches, two errors and swatted two hits in the inning to take their commanding 6-0 lead.

NOTES & NUMBERS:

• In just his second appearance on the mound this season, sophomore Miles Williams threw a scoreless eighth inning for the Trolls.
• Junior Michael Moralez extended his hitting streak to nine games. Moralez went 1-for-4.
