Box Score Whiting, Ind. - Trinity Christian College baseball (11-17, 7-8 CCAC) fell on Monday afternoon in a nine-inning game at Calumet College (8-23, 3-11), 13-8. Trinity was the home team despite not playing in their own ballpark. The game was made up after rain postponed it from the previous week.
Calumet scored seven runs in the first two innings. Trinity tied the score at eight in the seventh, but allowed five runs in the ninth inning and lost, 13-8. The game included nine errors - the Trolls committed four.
As the Trolls trailed 7-0 in the fourth inning, senior Angel Toscana got Trinity on the board with a sacrifice fly. Then in the fifth inning, senior Nick Andersen came up and ripped a double to cut the lead at 7-2. The game got wacky later in the frame.
As freshman Preston Moore struck out, a wild pitch allowed Moore to reach first base and a throwing error to first allowed two runs to score.
Two errors in the seventh inning allowed Trinity to score two runs. With the game tied at eight, Calumet scored five runs in the ninth inning to take home the win.
