PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – In his final regular season home match, senior Fernando Rosales sent out his fellow seniors as winners, scoring the lone goal for Trinity in a 1-0 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon at the Schaaf Athletic Complex.
Scoring all four of his goals this season in the last three matches, Rosales put the Trolls (7-5-3, 5-3-1 CCAC) in front with his strike in the 86th minute, with Ivan Perez earning the assist. The goal came just seven minutes after Trinity seemingly broke the scoreless tie, but the goal was negated by an offsides call.
Goalkeeper Giorgos Christodoulou earned his fourth shutout of the season, making just one save and facing three shots throughout the match.
Rosales, Christodoulou, along with fellow seniors Brad Walters, Toran Penner, Martin Markovic, Eli DenBleyker, and Luis Arredondo were recognized as part of the Senior Day festivities before the match.
The Trolls will finish out the regular season with two road matches next week, beginning with a trip to Bourbonnais to face Olivet Nazarene. Kickoff with the Tigers on Tuesday, October 24 is set for 7:00 p.m.
