BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – A goal in the early part of the first half would put Trinity in a hole early, as the Trolls fell on the road to Olivet Nazarene, 3-0 on Tuesday night.
The Trolls (7-6-3, 5-4-1 CCAC) suffered their first shutout in nearly six weeks, as Olivet held Trinity to a pair of shots on goal throughout the night. Both chances came late in each half, as Daniel Garcia put a ball on target in the 45th minute, and Drew Sotok had a shot on goal in the 87th, both stopped by the Olivet goalkeeper.
The Tigers (9-3-2, 7-1-2 CCAC) struck first in the 18th minute, then took a 2-0 lead just before the half, with another strike in the 43rd. The home team's goal in the 78th minute would put the match away, as the Trolls were held without a corner kick and just one shot on goal in the second half.
Trinity will look to bounce back on Saturday, as they wrap up the regular season with a trip to Saint Xavier. Kickoff with the Cougars is set for 2:30 p.m.
