KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Making their NCCAA Men's Soccer National Championship debut for the first time in 18 years, Trinity Men's Soccer picked up a point, taking a 1-1 draw against Carolina (N.C.) on Monday night.
Team Leaders
• After missing the CCAC Tournament, senior midfielder Toran Penner scored the lone goal for the Trolls (9-7-4), scoring his first of the season in the 28th minute.
• Goalkeeper Giorgos Christodoulou made one save in the match, as the Troll defense held Carolina (15-2-3) to just six shots on the night.
How it Happened
• Opening with the group's top-seeded team, the 7th-seeded Trolls fell behind early with a score from the Bruins in the 4th minute.
• Penner responded for Trinity with a strike later in the first half, sending the game into the break all even at 1-1.
• The Trolls would out-shoot the Bruins in the second half by a 6-4 margin and would put three shots on goal. Ivan Perez would put two on frame in the 57th and 64th minutes, and Lucas Camilo nearly had the game winner with a shot in the 81st.
