PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Trolls got off to a strong start on Saturday afternoon, but a late first-quarter rally for the visitors would lead to a 74-56 home loss to Saint Xavier inside DeVos Gymnasium.
Team Leaders
• Hannah Schuringa led the Trolls (0-9, 0-4 CCAC) in scoring for the first time this season, finishing with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting along with five rebounds and five steals.
• Desire Berrien finished with ten points, reaching double figures for the second game this year along with eight rebounds.
• Leilani Murray scored nine points and five boards.
How it Happened
• Trinity took an early lead in the first quarter, opening with a 6-3 lead after Schuringa completed a three-point play at the 8:30 mark.
• The Trolls would lead until later in the opening period, as Saint Xavier (4-5, 3-1 CCAC) closed the first on a 19-4 run over the final three minutes to take a 29-17 lead going into the second.
• Trinity out-scored the Cougars in the fourth quarter, but the visitors would maintain a double-digit lead throughout the rest of the game.
