CHICAGO, Ill. – Jadon Williams led the Trolls and nearly finished with a double-double, but turnovers proved costly as Trinity fell on the road on Saturday, 87-57 at No. 20 Roosevelt.
Team Leaders
• Williams posted 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting, to go with a team-high nine rebounds on the day, each setting a new season high for the junior.
• Johnny Dieck and Colton Schutt each posted ten points.
• Garrett Greene finished with eight points off the bench.
How it Happened
• After Williams' bucket to open the game, Roosevelt (11-1, 5-0 CCAC) claimed the lead with a 9-2 run over the next two minutes. The Trolls (3-7, 0-5 CCAC) would battle back later in the first half, using a 9-2 run of their own to cut the Laker lead to 21-19 by the 6:49 mark.
• A layup from Schutt with 1:36 left in the first half would tie the game at 26-26, but the home team would take a narrow 32-30 advantage at the break. Williams led all scorers with 12 first-half points, shooting 5-for-7 from the floor.
• Roosevelt would open the second half on an 11-4 run over the first four and a half minutes, taking a 43-34 lead by the 15:46 mark.
• A five-minute scoring drought that saw the Trolls go without a field goal during a 13-0 Laker run would put the game out of reach midway through the second half.
Next Up
• The Trolls step outside of CCAC play for the last two games of 2023, beginning with a rematch against St. Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.) on Monday, December 18. Tipoff from Terre Haute, Ind. is set for 6:00 p.m. CT.
