GREENVILLE, S.C. – Three Trolls earned national recognition for their work on the pitch during the 2023 season, as the NCCAA announced the men's and women's soccer All-American teams.
On the women's side, senior Demi Scibetta was named to the 2023 NCCAA All-American First Team, while goalkeeper Michelle Urribarri was an All-American Second Team selection. Among the men's soccer awards, senior defenseman James Hutchins was named to the NCCAA National Championship All-Tournament Team.
The duo each earn their first career All-American award, after helping lead the Trinity women's soccer program to their first NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship tournament appearance since Spring 2021. Scibetta finished 7th nationally in the NCCAA with a team-high 15 goals scored, and was the NCCAA North Central Region's Player of the Year.
Urribarri held opponents to less than one goal per game in 2023, finishing with a 12-4-4 record and six shutouts. The sophomore was an All-CCAC Second Team pick and a member of the NCCAA North Central Region First Team.
During the Trolls' first appearance at the NCCAA Men's Soccer National Championship in 18 years, Hutchins anchored the back line throughout both Group Play matches, playing 179 of a possible 180 minutes. Hutchins joins the All-CCAC duo of Tiago Alfieri and Ismael Aguero on the Trolls' postseason honor roll for 2023.
