ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – An early rally by the home team was too much to overcome, as Trinity dropped a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, 9-3 at Lewis (Ill.).

Jordan Veldman and Michael Moralez led the way at the plate for the Trolls (19-20), combining for three doubles and three RBI on the day. After Lewis (20-16) jumped out to a 4-0 advantage through the first two innings, a pair of one-out singles in the top of the 3rd set the table for Veldman's two-run double.

The Flyers would add five more before the top of the 8th, when Veldman's leadoff double and stolen base allowed Moralez to drive in a run on a single to left.

A bullpen day on the mound for the Trolls, saw a pair of scoreless innings from Gunnar Bettenhausen and Ryan Grand.

The Trolls jump back into conference play on Friday, when they host a CCAC doubleheader with St. Francis. First pitch from the Schaaf Athletic Complex is set for 1:00 p.m.
