JOLIET, Ill. - Trinity Men's Soccer would out-shoot their opponents on Saturday afternoon, but were unable to convert any scoring chances in a 2-0 loss on the road to St. Francis.
The Saints (4-2, 1-0 CCAC) would take the lead just before the end of the first half, scoring in the 43rd minute for a 1-0 advantage.
Scoring chances for Ivan Perez and Elijah DenBleyker came midway through the second half, but both game-tying opportunities would be stopped by the Saints' keeper. The Trolls (2-3-2, 0-1 CCAC) surrendered their second goal of the day in the 78th minute, and were kept scoreless the rest of the way.
Trinity will return to the Schaaf Athletic Complex for their first home match in nearly a month, returning from a four-match road swing to take on Indiana Northwest on Wednesday, September 20. Kickoff with the RedHawks is set for 4:00 p.m.
