Trolls pile in nine goals to win at Calumet

EAST CHICAGO, Ind. - Trinity finished with the most goals scored in a match in nearly two decades, as the Trolls cruised to a 9-1 road win at Calumet on Saturday afternoon.

The nine goals scored marks a new high score for the Trolls (4-3-2, 2-1 CCAC), since a program-record 17-0 win over Finlandia (Mich.) in 2005. Tiago Alfieri got things started in the 6th minute, opening the match with his first goal of the season. David Hernandez scored the first of his two goals eight minutes later, before Calumet (2-3, 0-3 CCAC) answered with a goal in the 19th minute.

With goals from Georgi Spasov and Fernandez, the Trolls would enter halftime with a 4-1 lead. In the second half, Trinity continued to pull away as Martin Markovic scored his second goal in the last two matches, and four more Trolls put away their first goals of the year in Robert Turner, Luis Arredondo Carlos Gouveia, and Raul Perez.

Trinity can secure its first three-match win streak of the year on Wednesday, when they travel to Viterbo (Wisc.). Kickoff with the V-Hawks is set for 3:30 p.m.
