How it Happened
• The Trolls started cold, with their first field goal coming at the 16:23 mark of the first half, as St. Ambrose jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the opening moments.
• A steal and fast-break dunk from Johnson with 12:49 in the first half would bring the Trolls back to within four, at 14-10, but the Bees responded with a 7-2 run to extend their lead to 21-12 midway through the half.
• Trinity kept the deficit within single digits throughout the first half, with Johnson's ten points before the break leading all scorers.
• A 7-2 run early in the second half for the Trolls would result in Johnson tying the game with his layup at the 14:36 mark. St. Ambrose came back with four straight points in their next two possessions to retain the lead.
• The host Bees would come back with a 16-4 run to build a double-digit advantage midway through the second half.
• Consistent free throw shooting and a pair of key baskets from Greene and Loerop down the stretch allowed the Trolls to get back in the game, with a three-point play from Greene with one minute to play made it a one-point game, 70-69.
• St. Ambrose would hit a three on their next trip down the floor, and the Trolls were unable to close the gap in the final seconds.
