UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. – Three Trolls finished in double figures, but Trinity struggled to keep pace with the hosts Governors State, falling to the Jaguars on the road Saturday afternoon, 75-52.
Team Leaders
• Sedona Anderson led the way for the Trolls, scoring 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting. The junior also recorded six rebounds and four assists on the day.
• Hannah Schuringa finished with 14 points, including eight in the fourth quarter, while going 7-for-9 from the floor and pulling down a team-high eight rebounds.
• Amena Alexander posted ten points, with six rebounds.
How it Happened
• The Jaguars opened with an early 8-2 run over the first five minutes of the game, as Trinity was held to just seven points in the opening quarter.
• Behind eight points apiece from Anderson and Alexander, the Trolls had their best scoring performance in the second quarter. Back-to-back threes from Governors State would push the deficit to 16 to start the period, but Trinity would work back to within single digits on Anderson's three-pointer with 56 seconds left before the halftime break.
• Governors State would pull away in the third quarter, out-scoring Trinity 22-11 in the period to put the game out of reach.
