GARY, Ind. – A two-point game at the half, Trinity struggled to keep pace with hosts Indiana Northwest after the break, falling on the road to the RedHawks 87-57 on Wednesday night.
Team Leaders
• Garrett Greene led the Trolls for the fourth time in the last five games, finishing with 13 points and five rebounds while going 2-for-3 from three-point range.
• Dustin Hudak tallied 12 points off the bench, on 5-of-9 shooting.
• Brady Loerop posted seven points and a team-high five assists on the night.
How it Happened
• The Trolls held a narrow lead in the opening minutes after Danny Staskunas hit the first bucket of the night. Trinity would lead 7-5 before Indiana Northwest scored seven unanswered to move in front, 12-7 at the 14:05 mark of the first half.
• Quinton Hunter reclaimed the lead for the Trolls midway through the half, with a three-pointer at the 9:26 mark to make it a 21-19 score. The lead would change hands three more times in the first half, with a Staskunas three-pointer putting Trinity in front 24-23 with just over six minutes to play.
• With the RedHawks up five, Green hit a three to bring the first half to a close and make it a two-point game, 34-32.
• Scores from Greene and Deylon Johnson would tie the game again at 36-36 early in the second half, but Indiana Northwest would pull away the rest of the night. Outside of a three-pointer from Hunter, the Trolls would go without another field goal for over ten minutes. The RedHawks would take a 22-point advantage, 66-44 after Loerop ended the drought with 8:03 remaining.
