PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – A second-half run for the visitors would prove to be the difference as Trinity men's basketball opened up 2024 with the Judson Eagles, as the Trolls fell 79-61 on Saturday afternoon inside DeVos Gymnasium.
Team Leaders
• Garrett Greene led the Trolls with 11 points off the bench, in 25 minutes of action.
• Three starters finished with nine points apiece, as Danny Staskunas hit a trio of three-pointers, and Jadon Williams and Brady Loerop each posted nine points and six rebounds.
• Johnny Dieck tallied seven points and a team-high seven rebounds.
How it Happened
• Judson held a narrow lead in the opening minutes, until Greene's three-pointer near the 14-minute mark of the first half tied the game at 11-11.
• The Eagles responded with a 7-0 run to reclaim the lead, and would remain in front throughout the rest of the first half, going into the break leading 34-27.
• In the second half, a scoring drought would put the Trolls further behind. Williams' score at the 14:50 mark cut the deficit to 41-35, but the Trolls would score just on field goal over the next nine and a half minutes. Judson would build a 64-39 advantage during that time to secure the road win.
Next Up
• The Trolls will welcome Calumet to DeVos Gymnasium next Wednesday night, January 10. Tipoff with the Crimson Wave is set for 7:30 p.m.
