CROWN POINT, Ind. – A pair of late goals would break a deadlock that lasted for over 70 minutes, as Trinity suffered a road loss Friday night, 2-0 to Governors State.
The Trolls were out-shot by a 20-9 margin on the night, including an 11-2 discrepancy in the second half. Trinity would get five shots on goal, with two coming from Murillo Costa.
Governors State would break through in the 72nd minute, then add a second goal ten minutes later to secure the win.
Roberto Navarro made eight saves for the Trolls, setting a new career high for the freshman goalkeeper.
Trinity will look to bounce back next Saturday, when they head to St. Ambrose for the third of the current four-match road swing. Kickoff with the Fighting Bees on Oct. 19 is set for 2:30 p.m.
