Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Trolls fall to top-seeded Jaguars in CCAC Final

CROWN POINT, Ind. – Making their first appearance in the CCAC Tournament Final in 28 years, Trinity Men's Soccer managed to out-shoot top-seeded Governors State, but two late goals over the final eleven minutes led to a 2-0 loss for the Trolls on Wednesday afternoon.

An even matchup throughout the first half, Trinity managed to get eight shots off, including four shots on goal from four different players. Each attempt on target from Ismael Aguero, Tiago Alfieri, David Hernandez, and Ivan Perez were all saved by the GSU keeper to preserve the scoreless draw going into the halftime break.

Perez would have two more chances saved by the Jaguars in the second half, before the home team broke through with the first goal of the day in the 80th minute. With the Trolls pressing forward to find a late equalizer, Governors State would put the game away with a second goal in the 86th minute.

The Trolls now prepare for the NCCAA North Central Regional Final, to be held at the Schaaf Athletic Complex against Judson, with the winner earning an automatic bid to the NCCAA Men's Soccer Championship next month. Kickoff with the Eagles is set for Wednesday, November 20, at 1:00 p.m.
