UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. – A scoring drought to start the night put the Trolls behind early, as Trinity Women's Basketball opened CCAC play with a 94-40 loss at Governors State on Wednesday night.
The host Jaguars would open on a 22-0 run in the first quarter before a layup from Destiny Goodwin put the Trolls on the board midway through the period. Trinity would be unable to close the gap the rest of the way, as Governors State out-scored the Trolls in each quarter.
Goodwin and Kyla Smith led the Trolls with 12 points apiece and six rebounds each. Desire Berrien recorded nine points with eight rebounds.
Trinity will look to bounce back next Tuesday night, when they host St. Francis on November 26. Tipoff with the Saints from DeVos Gymnasium is set for 5:30 p.m.
