SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Bibi Mercado led the Trolls in scoring for the second time in two games this season, but turnovers and a tough shooting performance resulted in a 71-44 loss at Lawrence Tech (Mich.) on Wednesday night.
Mercado tallied ten points, hitting a pair of threes to pace the Trolls. Anastasia Anane pulled down a team-high ten rebounds to go with six points, while Desire Berrien finished with six points and eight boards.
Trinity would hold a narrow lead in the first half, 14-14 after Anane's bucket at the 2:46 mark, but the Blue Devils would follow up with an 8-0 run to end the period and take a 20-14 advantage into the second quarter. Lawrence Tech would expand their lead before the end of the half by out-scoring Trinity 23-4 in the second quarter and would lead the rest of the way.
The Trolls will look to bounce back this weekend, as their three-game road trip wraps up with a visit to Goshen (Ind.) on Saturday, November 9. Tipoff with the Maple Leafs is set for 1:00 p.m.
