KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Trinity sophomore David Hernandez would find the back of the net in each half on Tuesday night, as the Trolls took a 3-1 victory over Geneva (Pa.) in their opening match of the NCCAA Men's Soccer National Championship.

The Trolls first got on the board in the 38th minute, after earning a penalty that Hernandez slotted away for the early 1-0 lead. Geneva would rally shortly afterwards, and scored a tying goal in the 39th minute, resulting in an even score at the halftime break.

In the second half, a pair of goals in under 75 seconds would give the Trolls the victory. Ismael Aguero scored his fifth of the season in the 66th minute, with assists from Hernandez and Lucas Vilela. In the 67th, Hernandez would strike again, assisted by Murillo Costa for the 3-1 win.

Trinity sits in a tie atop Pool B after Tuesday's match, and can clinch a spot in the national semifinal with a win or draw over Campbellsville (Tenn.) on Wednesday. Kickoff in the pool play finale is set for 5:00 p.m. CT.
