How it Happened
• The Trolls (3-3) used three key rallies in the first set on their way to a 25-15 win. Four straight errors from the visitors, including a block from Hay and Dargan, would give Trinity the early 10-5 lead. A kill and an ace from Costa highlighted a five-point run for the Trolls at 19-10, and four in a row late in the game, with three combined kills from Hay and Dargan set up game point for Trinity at 24-14.
• Edgewood came back in game two, closing out the set with four of the last five points to win, 25-23.
• In game three, the Trolls would take a big early lead, using a 9-1 run to go up 14-8, with three kills from Dargan and a pair of aces from Schmidt to fuel the rally. Edgewood would come all the way back to tie the game at 20-20, but two more kills from Hay, including one at game point gave the Trolls the lead in the match, winning 25-23.
• Trinity would hold a narrow lead throughout most of game four, until a quick five-point run late in the set would help secure the win. Leading 16-14, Costa, Hay, and Nick Mioni would combine for four kills along with an ace from Carrion to score five in a row and go up 21-14. A block from Hay and Costa set up match point, with Costa's 20th kill of the night ending the match on a 25-19 win.
