PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Garrett Greene's jumper with 1.8 seconds left on the clock would give the Trolls the win on Wednesday night, as Trinity defeated Holy Cross 82-80 inside DeVos Gymnasium.
Team Leaders
• Greene finished with a game-high 26 points on 11-for-17 shooting, along with five rebounds.
• Dustin Hudak posted 22 points, with nine boards and four steals.
• Jadon Williams came off the bench to score 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting with eight rebounds.
How it Happened
• The first half would see five lead changes, but Williams' layup at the 10:10 mark would put the Trolls in front throughout the rest of the period, as Trinity used an 8-1 run to go up 22-17.
• A pair of free throws from Hudak near the end of the half would give Trinity their largest lead before the break, 39-32. Holy Cross would close the gap slightly as Trinity took a 41-37 into the second half.
• The Saints would open with a 7-0 run to start the second half, reclaiming a 44-41 advantage.
• Ten more lead changes throughout the second half would leave Holy Cross with a 74-72 lead, before Greene tied the game with a bucket at the 3:04 mark. A layup from Williams put the Trolls in front again, 76-75 with 1:49 left to play.
• The Saints would hit three free throws in the final seconds to tie the game, before Greene's game winner with 1.8 seconds left. Holy Cross would get a half-court shot off at the buzzer, but the attempt would fall short to give Trinity the win.
