PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – With a career-high 35 points, senior Dustin Hudak led Trinity Men's Basketball to a home victory on Monday night, taking the second win of the year over East-West (Ill.) 86-78 inside DeVos Gymnasium.
Team Leaders
• Hudak posted the highest point total for a Troll this season, with 35 points on 13-of-25 shooting. The senior also set a career high with 14 rebounds for his first career double-double.
• Brady Loerop posted 19 points with eight boards and three blocked shots, going 8-for-17 from the floor.
• Johnny Dieck tallied 15 points and seven rebounds with three steals on the night.
• Quinton Hunter scored seven points and finished with a career-high ten rebounds.
How it Happened
• The Phantoms held a small lead throughout the early portions of the first half, until a 7-0 run from the Trolls highlighted by a Danny Staskunas three-pointer put Trinity in front, 18-15 by the 11:07 mark.
• The lead would change hands six more times in the first half, but the Trolls would out-score East-West 10-4 over the final five minutes to claim a 37-32 advantage at the halftime break, with Hudak leading the way with 19 points.
• A pair of scores early in the second half from the Phantoms would briefly make it a four-point game, but buckets from Dieck, Loerop, and Staskunas would keep the Trolls in front 46-37 with 16:32 to play as Trinity held on the rest of the way for the win.
