WILMORE, Ky. – Trinity Baseball went 2-for-3 in their weekend trip to Kentucky, as the Trolls dropped the opening game to hosts Asbury (Ky.) before recovering for two wins over Wright State-Lake (Ohio) on Friday and Saturday.
Game 1
Asbury 11, Trinity 9

• The Trolls behind early as the host Eagles would score ten runs in the first three innings, including four unearned runs off a pair of Trinity fielding errors.
• After an RBI single in the 1st inning from Anthony Cappelletti, the Trolls started their comeback with another score in the top of the 5th with Benson Holleman's run-scoring double, cutting the deficit to 10-2.
• Darreon Mickell would drive in a run in the 6th, followed by a two-run double off the bat of Omar Wright, closing the gap further to 11-5.
• Cappelletti would lead off the 7th by reaching base on error, and Carter Chaney would draw a walk to set the table for Brian Huttner's first home run of the season, a three-run shot to make it an 11-8 game.
• Trinity would leave two on base in a scoreless 8th inning, but load the bases in the top of the 9th with back to back walks and a fielding error to lead off the inning. Holleman drew another walk to force in a run, but a double play would slow the rally and allow the Eagles to escape with an 11-9 win.
• Omar Wright went 3-for-6 with a double and two RBI in the leadoff spot for the Trolls. Oliver Carmody finished 4-for-5.
• The bullpen group of Gunnar Bettenhausen, Jacob Houlihan, Justin Egan, and Noah McFadzean combined to throw four innings without an earned run.
Game 2
Trinity 15, Wright State-Lake 4 (7 innings)
WP: Hutcherson (5-0) • LP: DiVincenz (1-2)
HR: Cappelletti, 2 (6)
• After a solo home run in the 1st inning put Wright State-Lake in the lead, the Trolls responded with three runs in the top of the 2nd, highlighted by a two-out, two-run triple from Wright.
• In the 3rd inning Wright State would tie the game at 3-3, but Cappelletti's home run in the top of the 5th plated a pair of runs to put Trinity back in the lead, 5-3.
• A six-run outburst in the top of the 6th would put the game out of reach, as Cappelletti hit his second home run of the day, a grand slam to push the Trolls' advantage to 11-4.
• Jacob Hutcherson picked up the win after five innings of relief, striking out seven.
• Cappelletti finished the game 2-for-3 with six RBI; Wright went 2-for-4 with a walk, three RBI and a pair of runs scored.
Game 3
Trinity 5, Wright State-Lake 3
WP: Nielsen (4-1) • LP: Koedyker (2-2) • Sv: Munoz (7)
• A five-run 3rd inning would hold up for the Trolls, who posted all their offense in the frame. Wright, Holleman, and Preston Moore would record RBIs during the rally which included four base hits and three errors.
• Wright State-Lake would post two runs in the 4th and another in the 7th, but Ulysses Munoz would work around one base hit and strike out two while earning a two-inning save for the Trolls.
• Christopher Nielsen picked up his fourth win of the season, with two innings pitched in relief, without a base hit surrendered.
• Seven Trolls would record a hit in the win, with Tommy Schaaf coming in as a pinch hitter to record the lone extra-base hit of the game, with his leadoff double to start the bottom of the 7th.

• The Trolls return to the Schaaf Athletic Complex on Friday, when they begin a four-game series with Indiana South Bend. First pitch with the Titans is set for 1:00 p.m.
