BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Trinity Track & Field picked up its first two NAIA national qualifiers over the weekend, while setting some school records in the process as the Trolls took on the Olivet Nazarene Tiger Open on Saturday.
NAIA Qualifiers
• Senior sprinter Alyssa Busker booked her ticket to return to the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, with a pair of victories in the 100 and 200 meters. Busker posted the top time in the 100 meter prelims, at 12.15 seconds, then improved to 11.85 in the final. In the 200 meters, Busker posted a time of 24.04 to take the top spot and best the NAIA's "A" standard by over six tenths of a second. Nationally, Busker now ranks 14th in the NAIA in the 100, and 7th in the 200.
School Records
• On the men's side, three Trinity program records were broken during the meet. The 4x400 meter relay team of Madison Moraga, Kyran Thurmond, Zac Maher, and Dustin Hudak would place 2nd overall, with a record-breaking time of 3:22.66.
• Two throwing records would be set, both by sophomore Quinton Boyd. In the shot put, Boyd finished 3rd, with a toss of 14.56m (47' 9.25"), setting the record on his final throw.
• In the Hammer, Boyd would finish 6th, qualifying for the NCCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a throw of 46.56m (152' 9").
NCCAA Qualifiers
• The Trolls added three sprinting entries to their NCCAA squad, including with freshman Madison Moraga in the 100 meters. Moraga qualified for the NCCAA national meet by posting the top time during prelims, at 11.17 seconds. In the final, Moraga finished 4th with a time of 10.85 seconds.
• Amanda Lichtenstein qualified in two events, first in the 100 meter prelims with a time of 12.77, then improving in the final with a 4th place finish and time of 12.38. Lichtenstein then finished 8th overall in the 200 meters, qualifying for the NCCAA meet with a time of 25.90.
• Paige Stefanek became the first female thrower for the Trolls to qualify, setting a personal record and meeting the NCCAA standard in the Hammer Throw. The sophomore placed 10th overall, reaching 38.31m (125' 8") with her first throw of the event.
Event Wins
• Two Trolls won their events, meeting the NCCAA standard for the second time this year.
• Dustin Hudak took home first place in the men's 800 meters, finishing in 1:53.06.
• Abigail Hoekzema set a personal record in the women's high jump, clearing 1.55m (5' 1") for her first collegiate victory in the event.

• Most of the Trolls will prepare to compete in the Meet of Champions, hosted by Augustana (Ill.) on Friday and Saturday, while the throwers will head to Wisconsin Lutheran for the Green & White Invite on Saturday.
