Trolls early lead falls short at Calumet

WHITING, Ind. – Trinity would take a double-digit lead in the first half, but the host Crimson Wave would rally before the break, holding on to a narrow lead throughout the night as the Trolls fell on the road, 78-75 at Calumet on Wednesday night.

The Trolls would come out strong, opening the night with an 8-0 lead off three-pointers from Garrett Greene and Chris Cross. Trinity would lead throughout most of the first half, going up by as much as 14 points after a pair of Cross free throws at the 7:25 mark.

Calumet would respond over the final four minutes before the break, out-scoring the Trolls 14-4 to claim a 41-38 edge at the half.

The home team would expand their lead to double digits midway through the second half, but threes from Cross and Tylan Harris helped close the gap for Trinity, as the Trolls pulled even at 60-60 with 6:45 to play. Trinity would tie the score five more times down the stretch but were unable to take a lead as the Crimson Wave held on for the three-point win.
