Trolls come up short against St. Francis

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Trolls would take a three-point lead into the halftime break, but a shot-shooting St. Francis squad would respond as Trinity came up short on Saturday afternoon, 90-82 inside DeVos Gymnasium.

Trinity led 36-33 at halftime, behind a team-high seven points from Brandon Adorno. The Trolls would go up by as much as nine following an 8-2 run highlighted by three-pointers from Danny Staskunas and Brandt Martin, as well as a steal and fast-break dunk from Aiden Cilladi. St. Francis would close the gap, scoring six unanswered over the final 1:58 to make it a three-point game at the break.

A pair of trips to the free throw line from Cilladi and Garrett Greene fueled a six-point run to start the second half, giving the Trolls a 42-35 lead with 17:53 left to play. The Saints answered, scoring ten in a row over the next three minutes to take the lead, 45-42.

Corey George's layup at the 13:40 mark would put the Trolls back up 46-45, but a three on the other end of the floor would put the visitors back on top, and St. Francis would stay in front the rest of the way.

Tylan Harris led the Trolls with 23 points on the day, going 6-for-11 from three-point range and 8-for-14 overall. Cilladi tallied 15 points and six rebounds on 6-of-12 shooting, and Greene reached double figures with 13 points. Brandon Adorno recorded nine points, with ten rebounds and seven assists.

The Trolls are back in action on Tuesday night, Nov. 25, when they travel to Olivet Nazarene. Tipoff with the Tigers is set for 6:00 p.m.
