PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Trinity picked up the first win of the season on Thursday night, cruising to a straight-set win over visiting Maranatha Baptist (Wisc.), 25-11, 25-10, 25-12.

The Trolls would control the match from the start, opening with a 5-0 lead to start the first game. An 11-2 run midway through the set, highlighted by three kills from Austin Risser and aces from Samuel Kwan and Tim Slattery, would give Trinity a 21-7 lead on their way to the opening game win.

Maranatha Baptist would score the first point of game two, for their lone lead of the night, as the Trolls came back with six of the next eight points to build a 6-3 advantage. Trinity would close the set on a 10-2 run to take the two-set advantage in the match.

Trinity would cruise to a third set win, taking a 7-1 lead to start and staying in front the rest of the way.

Ethan Oros led the Trolls with six kills in the win, hitting for a .417 percentage and serving up three aces. Kwan matched his teammate with three aces and a game-high six digs.

The Trolls will look to make it two in a row on Friday night, when they host Wabash (Ind.) for a non-conference battle beginning at 7:00 p.m.
