PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – With a red-shot shooting performance in the first half, Trinity picked up a dominant home win on Wednesday night, defeating Judson 92-66 inside DeVos Gymnasium.
The Trolls would shoot over 65% from the floor, and 73% (11-15) from three-point range in the first half, leading to a 20-point advantage going into the halftime break. A back-and-forth matchup in the opening minutes, Trinity would maintain a single-digit lead throughout most of the half, until a run of four straight threes in under two minutes gave the Trolls a 48-30 lead with 2:46 on the clock.
Trinity would control the game throughout the second half, out-scoring Judson 38-32 and keeping a double-digit advantage the rest of the way.
Five players finished in double figures for the Trolls, led by Chris Cross' game-high 31 points. Cross would go 12-for-17 from the floor, and 5-for-8 from beyond the arc. Kaden Eirhart had his highest scoring game as a Troll, posting 20 points, including 16 in the first half with four made three-pointers.
Danny Staskunas tallied 13 points, while Johnny Dieck came off the bench to go 5-for-5 from the floor and finish with 12 points and six rebounds. Tylan Harris recorded his first career double-double, posting ten points with a career-high ten assists.
The Trolls now prepare for a trip on Saturday to take on Indiana Northwest. Tipoff with the Redhawks is set for 3:00 p.m.
