PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – An offensive onslaught that would see a combined 89 runs over four games, Trinity would stumble in a shootout of a four-game set with St. Ambrose, avoiding a sweep by winning the finale of the series on Saturday afternoon.

St. Ambrose 17, Trinity 7
WP: Johnson • LP: Strutz (2-2)

The visiting Bees would open a 3-0 lead with a run in the top of the 1st and two more in the 3rd, before Trinity got on the board in the bottom half of the 3rd. The Trolls would leave two runners on base however, and St. Ambrose would get the run back in the top of the 4th.

In the bottom of the 5th the Trolls would rally to take the lead, as Carter Chaney drove in a run with his RBI single to left center, and Shane Jones' two-run base hit. Hector Mendoza would give the Trolls a 5-4 lead with a two-out base hit that brought Jones around for the go-ahead run.

St. Ambrose would take over in the closing innings however, scoring five runs in the top of the 6th and another eight in the 7th.

Wright would go 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double and stolen base to lead the Trolls at the plate. Jones finished 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI, and a stolen base.
