The Trolls opened the day with a big first inning, jumping out to a 4-0 lead with five straight singles. Alex Hofman and Kamryn Koontz each drove in a run, and Emma Luther's two-run single would stretch the early lead further.
Indiana South Bend would rally with a run in the bottom of the 1st and two more in the 2nd to cut the deficit back down to a run. After the offensive outburst to start the game, Trinity would collect just one base hit over the next three innings as the Titans eventually pulled even in the bottom of the 5th.
A leadoff double from Koontz to start the top of the 6th would set the table for Lauryn Packard, who would double two batters later and drive in the go-ahead run.
Myleigh Halmon would pick up the win after throwing all seven innings, with four strikeouts and three earned runs. Koontz finished 3-for-3 to lead the Trolls at the plate, with a double, RBI, and run scored.

In game two the host Titans would be the team with a big inning to start, as Trinity fell behind after a four-run rally in the bottom of the 1st. Three straight base hits to start the top of the 2nd would give the Trolls their first run of the day, on Luther's RBI single, but Indiana South Bend would put another run back on the board in the bottom half of the frame.
The Titans pushed their lead to 6-1 after three innings, before Trinity rallied in the top of the 4th. A leadoff pinch-hit double from Isabella Hull set the table for two-out RBI base hits from Halmon and Koontz as the Trolls closed the gap to 6-3. IU South Bend would respond in the bottom of the 6th however, scoring five runs on six hits, and ended the game on run rule after working around a Trinity walk in a scoreless top of the 5th.
Halmon and Koontz would each record two hits in the game to lead the Trolls at the plate.
The Trolls close out their six-game road trip this weekend, when they travel to St. Ambrose. First pitch in the doubleheader with the Bees is set for Saturday at noon.
