PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Trolls would struggle at the plate on Thursday, as Trinity softball would fall in a CCAC doubleheader with St. Francis, dropping game one 3-0, and game two 10-4.

A pitcher's duel throughout, the visitors would break through with a run in the top of the 4th, before adding a pair of insurance runs in the 7th to close out the win. The Trolls would leave seven runners on base, including two left on base three times throughout the game.
Erianna Claudio and Peyton Lowden each recorded doubles, and Anna Lisa Fluder was the lone Troll to reach base twice, drawing a pair of walks. Myleigh Halmon worked around ten hits over her seven innings pitched, allowing two earned runs while striking out two.
St. Francis 10, Trinity 4

The Trolls took the lead in the bottom of the 3rd, snapping a run of 24 consecutive scoreless innings. Ariana Ikis would reach base on a fielder's choice before stealing second, setting up Halmon's two-out RBI single. Alex Hofman would follow up with a run-scoring base hit of her own to give Trinity the 2-0 lead.
Trinity would hold the lead until the top of the 5th, when the Saints would break through with five runs on five hits and an error. St. Francis would double their run total with another five in the 7th inning to take a 10-2 advantage. Halmon would close the gap in the bottom of the 7th with a two-run home run, her third of the season.
Halmon finished 2-for-4 at the plate, with three RBI and two runs scored. Hofman went 2-for-3 with a run and RBI.
The Trolls will look to bounce back on Friday, with a non-conference matchup at North Park (Ill.). First pitch with the Vikings is set for 1:00 p.m.
