PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Trolls were unable to keep pace with CCAC rivals Judson, as the Eagles would post double digits in each game in a series sweep over Trinity on Friday and Saturday.
Judson 12, Trinity 9

After Judson took a two-run lead in the top of the 1st, the Trolls responded with three runs on one hit in the bottom half of the frame. Taiki Kondo would single to bring in Hector Mendoza, who reached base after being hit by pitch, then Casey Folkerts' sac fly would score Shane Jones to even the score at 2-2. Kondo would later score on a balk to give Trinity the early lead.
Following Mendoza's RBI single in the 2nd, both teams would score runs in the 4th inning and Judson would tie the game at 5-5 in the top of the 5th. The visitors would then rally for seven runs in the 6th inning to pull away, with Trinity's four-run bottom of the 7th closing the gap at the end.
Kondo and Omar Wright each went 2-for-4, while Brodie Mayberry finished 2-for-3 with a double. Shane Jones hit his second home run of the season, going 1-for-3 with a walk, three RBI and two runs scored.
Judson 12, Trinity 2 (8 inn.)

The Trolls took an early lead in the bottom of the 2nd, when the first four batters would reach base and Josh Pilgrim would single to bring in Kondo. Folkerts' double play would shorten the rally but not before Wright game home for the 2-0 advantage.
Judson would be held off the scoreboard until a single run in the 5th inning, but the Eagles scored 11 more over the final three frames to end the game in eight innings on run rule.
Kondo would go 3-for-4 to lead the Trolls at the plate, with a double, run scored, and stolen base.
Judson 12, Trinity 4

HR: Wright (2)
Carter Chaney's single to lead off the game would lead to an RBI double from Benson Holleman to give Trinity the 1-0 lead after the top of the 1st, but the Eagles would tie the game before the end of the inning. Wright would hit his second home run of the season in the top of the 3rd as Chaney scored for the second time in two plate appearances to give the Trolls a 3-1 edge.
Judson would pull away in the middle innings, scoring seven in the 4th and four more in the 5th to secure the series win in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.
Chaney finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored, while Kondo and Folkerts each finished with a pair of base hits.
Judson 11, Trinity 6
WP: Alworth • LP: Toledo (0-5)
Trailing 4-0 through four innings, Trinity would tie the game in the top of the 5th with freshman Bradley Johnson's first collegiate base hit, a two-run double, plus run-scoring singles from Wright and Folkerts.
The Trolls would take the lead in the 6th inning on RBI singles from Kondo and Anthony Cappelletti, but the Eagles would score seven runs over the final three innings to close out the series sweep.
Wright would finish 2-for-5 as the lone Troll to record multiple hits in the game, while Kondo finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and a pair of walks.
The Trolls return to the Schaaf Athletic Complex for a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, as they host Grace (Ind.) for a single nine-inning matchup beginning at 3:00 p.m.
