PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Trinity Christian opened the 2025 season with a strong defensive effort, earning a 2-0 victory over Dordt at the Schaaf Athletic Complex on Thursday afternoon.
The Trolls (1-0) took the lead late in the first half, when Rafael Alonso converted in the 37th minute for his first goal of the season. Trinity would continue to apply pressure throughout the match, outshooting the Defenders (0-1) by a 13-4 margin.
In the 82nd minute, Diego Millas doubled the advantage, scoring his first career goal off an assist from Joao Barreto to seal the result.
Roberto Navarro collected two saves to post the shutout, as the Trolls defense held Dordt without a shot on goal in the second half.
Trinity will remain at home for their next contest, hosting Rio Grande (Ohio) on Saturday, Aug. 23. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
