• Trinity Golf tees off on the 2025 season on Thursday and Friday, with back-to-back single-round tournaments in the Chicagoland area. The Trolls will compete at the Governors State Fall Tuneup on Thursday, then head to Dundee, Ill. for the Judson Invite on Friday.
• Trinity brings a mix of returners and new faces to the roster in 2025, with four newcomers added to the ten-man squad. Returning to Palos Heights this year is senior
Ricardo Serpa, who led the team last season with an average round of 75.3. Serpa posted the five lowest scores of the season for Trinity last year.
• As a freshman in spring 2023, Serpa set the Trinity all-time record for lowest single-round score, shooting a 68 (-3) at the Judson Invite on Oct. 3, at the Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin. Serpa remains only one of two Trinity golfers all-time to break 70 in a round (69; Steven Massey, 2017-18).
• The Trolls are the defending team champs at the GSU Fall Tuneup; Trinity shot a team-score of 314 (+26), defeating St. Francis on a fifth-player tiebreaker to claim the title. Three Trolls placed in the top four on the individual leaderboard, with Serpa as the lone returner for this season, shooting 75 (+3) to finish 2nd.
• Last season's GSU Fall Tuneup was at SPG Green Garden G.C. in Frankfort, Ill. Now at University Park G.C., the tournament moves to a course that none of the current players on the roster have seen in competition.
• On Friday, the Trolls will return to a very familiar course in Randall Oaks G.C.; as a team, Trinity has competed at Randall Oaks five times over the past three years.
• As a team, the Trolls have an average score of 321.4 at Randall Oaks over the past five rounds, dating back to 2022-23. The team won the Judson Invite at the course on Sept. 12, 2022, with a score of 310 (+26).
• Serpa has played Randall Oaks five times in competition, with an average score of 76.2. The senior's shot a low of 73, and has three rounds of 74 at the course.
• Two other Trolls have played Randall Oaks before;
Ali Bizati has two appearances, with a low score of 86 (+15), and
Alejo Keticoglu shot an 87 (+16) in his first tournament round.
