Last home match leads to loss for Trolls

The Trinity men's soccer team competed in their last home match of the season against the Holy Cross Saints. As they fought in the cold weather, the Trolls were unable to secure win, losing 0-2 to the Saints.

Both teams remained scoreless for the first 25 minutes of the first half. It wasn't until the 28th minute that Axel Valenzuela of Holy Cross scored a goal, giving the Saints a 1-0 lead.

Once the second half began, the Trolls tried to score a goal of their own and hold off the Saints' offense. But the Trolls were unable to do so. Laith Zaibal scored in the 50th minute to put Holy Cross up 2-0, and the Trolls, although putting up three shots in the half, were unable to score. Trinity lost 0-2.

Junior Justin Taylor was able to put three shots up with two on goal for the Trolls. Sophomore Manasse Mbuyi and freshman Emmanuel Iradukunda were also able to put up a shot each. Junior Mathis Muller also made six saves.

The Trolls will have their final game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Olivet Nazarene. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m.
