Box Score The Trinity women's basketball team competed in the first day of the Troll Classic today, playing an undefeated team in the Dordt University Defenders. Although the Trolls were able to keep the score close to start, the game ultimately resulted in a 56-95 loss for Trinity.
During the first two quarters of the game, the Trolls attempted to stick with Dordt. After the first, they were only down by three, and by the second, the Trolls were down by 18.
From there, the Trolls were unable to stop the Defenders.
Dordt doubled the amount of points scored by Trinity in the last two quarters, ultimately resulting in the Trolls losing 56-95.
Three Trolls finished the night with double-digit points including sophomore Summer Cramer, freshman Anne Peters and senior Breanna Toppen. Cramer scored 13 points while Peters grabbed 11. For Toppen, she finished the night with 13 points while also securing her 1,000th career point as a Troll.
Along with those stats, Toppen also had five rebounds on the night while junior Abby Coates finished with four. Coates was also able to record two blocks.
The Trolls will be back on the court for the second day of the Troll Classic tomorrow at 3 p.m. Their game will start following the men's basketball game at 1 p.m.
