The Trinity men's basketball team hosted the first day of the Troll Classic today as they hosted the No. 12 Cornerstone Golden Eagles. The Trolls were able to fight against this team, but ultimately lost 69-78 to the Eagles.

In the first half of the game, the Eagles took an early lead, but it wasn't long before the Trolls were able to catch up with the nationally-ranked team. Heading into the half, the Trolls had the lead over the Eagles 37-28.

But in the second half, it wasthe Golden Eagles who took control of the match. They made 50 shots compared to Trinity's 32.

Leading the way for the Trolls tonightwas junior Josh Decker, who recorded 23 points on the night, making five of eight three-pointers. He also added three rebounds to the stat sheet. Redshirt sophomore James Pennington also had a good night, registering 12 points and five assists.

The Trolls will be back in action tomorrow against Lawrence Tech for the second and final day of the Troll Classic, which will begin at 2 p.m.
