Box Score The Trinity women's basketball team played in a CCAC game against the Indiana South Bend Titans. Although the Trolls did not end with a winning result, they played hard against this nationally-ranked team.
In the first quarter, the Trolls were tied with the No. 20 Titans as both teams scored 20 points. But in the second, Trinity was able to grab a four-point lead over Indiana South Bend as they headed into the half. The Trolls continued to keep that lead through the third quarter, but in the fourth, the Titans took control of the game, causing the Trolls to lose 76-86.
Two Trinity players finished the night with 20 points or more, and they were sophomore Summer Cramer and junior Abby Coates. Cramer had a career-high 23 points against the Titans, shooting 57.1% from the field and going six for eight on three-point field goals. Coates added a season-high of 20 points while also recording team-highs with four assists and three blocks.
One other Troll earned double-digit points, and that was senior Breanna Toppen. She registered 12 points and one assist on the night. Junior Jasmine Elliott also contributed eight points and a team-high six rebounds.
The Trolls will be on the road again on Saturday, Jan. 18 as they take on the University of St. Francis to face the Fighting Saints. Tip off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
