Two 20+ point-games not enough to get win over Fighting Saints

Box Score

The Trinity men's basketball team played in another CCAC game today as they took on the University of St. Francis Fighting Saints. Although the Trolls had two players score more than 20 points, it wasn't enough to push them past St. Francis.

In the beginning of the first half, the Trolls maintained a seven-point lead, but it didn't last long. The Fighting Saints made a comeback, ultimately taking the lead and the contest as the Trolls lost 77-105.

Leading Trinity today was junior TJ Lacey, who recorded a career-high 30 points while also registering four rebounds, a steal and an assist. During this game, Lacey shot 58% from the field and also went five for six on three-point field goals.

Redshirt sophomore James Pennington also had a big night, adding another double-double to his career with 24 points and a team-high 12 rebounds.

The Trolls will be back in the DeVos Gymnasium on Wednesday, Jan. 22 as they host the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees, who are currently tied for the fourth-place spot in the conference. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
