Hard-fought game leads to loss for Trolls

The Trinity women's basketball team hosted the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees today after being on the road for two weeks. Although the Trolls kept it close with St. Ambrose at parts of the game, they were not able to secure a win.

In the first quarter, Trinity was able to grab the lead. But in the second quarter, the Fighting Bees scored 25 points, while the Trolls only scored seven, causing them to be behind at the half with a score of 26-37. Once the second half began, St. Ambrose did not let go of the lead, which ultimately resulted in a 60-81 loss for Trinity.

Scoring the most points for the Trolls tonight was junior Paige Hacker and sophomore Summer Cramer. Both players finished with 10 points. Hacker went four-for-six on shots while Cramer recorded two steals. Junior Jasmine Elliott also had a team-high nine rebounds while also registering eight points.

The Trolls are now 5-16 overall and 2-11 in conference play. They will be back in action again on Saturday as they travel to Cardinal Stritch for a CCAC contest. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
