Box Score e Trinity men's basketball team competed against the Cardinal Stritch Wolves in a CCAC contest. After going through a losing streak, the Trolls broke it today as they secured their first win in nine games.
During the first half, Trinity was down by five after going back and forth with Cardinal Stritch as they headed into the half with a score of 33-38. Once the second half began, both teams continued to battle for the win. Ultimately it came down to the last 12 seconds, when the Trolls made a three-point basket, and the Wolves came up short. Trinity won the game 74-71.
Leading the team tonight was redshirt sophomore James Pennington. He recorded 19 points while also grabbing a team-high six assists. Juniors TJ Lacey and Josh Decker also registered double-digit points, with both of them recording 13 points apiece.
The Trolls are now sitting at 6-14 overall and 2-11 in conference play. They will be back in action again on Wednesday, Jan. 29 as they travel to Trinity International. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
