The Trinity women's basketball team hosted their first game in the DeVos Gymnasium this year. After tonight's contest against the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles, the Trolls secured their first win this season.

The Trolls never let the Eagles get ahead of them at any point during the game. Both teams scored 18 points in the first quarter, but after that, the Trolls grabbed a slight lead, registering 21 points compared to the Eagles' 16. Although Cornerstone out-scored Trinity in the third quarter by one point, it wasn't enough to secure the win. The Trolls defeated the Eagles 84-77.

Leading the way for Trinity was senior Jasmine Elliott. She earned a double-double in her first appearance of the season with 25 points and 10 rebounds. She also led the team in steals with seven. Four other Trolls also put up double-digit points including junior Summer Cramer (16), senior Jasmine Glover (16), senior Gabby Kreykes (15) and senior Abby Coates (11). Cramer led the team in assists with five.

With this game, the Trolls are now 1-1 on the season. They will be back in action again on Thursday, Nov. 19 as they travel to Gary, Ind. to take on the Indiana University Northwest Red Hawks. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
