Box Score The Trinity men's basketball team competed in another CCAC contest today as they hosted the Indiana Northwest Redhawks. The two teams played tough throughout the game, but at the end, the Trolls were able to come out on top.
In the first half, the two teams were neck and neck, but the Trolls managed to grab a six-point lead as they headed to the locker room with a score of 46-40. From there, the Redhawks were able to tie up the game, causing the contest to go into overtime. But it didn't take long for Trinity to come back out on fire, securing their third straight win with a score of 93-88.
Redshirt sophomore James Pennington lit up the scoresheet today, recording a new season-high with 34 points while also grabbing nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. Three other players contributed double-digit points including freshman Erik Cohn (14), senior Josh Shannon (13) and junior Josh Decker (11).
From the field, Cohn, Pennington and junior TJ Lacey all shot at least 50%. Shannon also had a team-high of two blocks.
The Trolls now have an overall record of 8-14 and a conference record of 4-11. They will be back in action again as they travel to CCAC opponent Saint Xavier on Wednesday, Feb. 5. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
