Trolls lose CCAC contest to Eagles

Box Score

The Trinity men's basketball team traveled to Elgin, Ill. to take on the Judson University Eagles in a CCAC contest. Although the Trolls kept the game close, they were unable to come out with the win.

In the first half, Trinity was able to take the early lead. But once the Eagles caught up, they didn't let the Trolls back in. At the half, Judson was up 47-40, and by the end of the game, the Eagles secured the win with a score of 91-79.

Leading the team in points was redshirt sophomore James Pennington. He recorded 20 on the night while also grabbing team-highs for rebounds with eight, assists with four, blocks with one, and steals with three.

Senior Deantre DeYoung, freshman Vince Overway and junior Josh Decker all finished with double-digit points. DeYoung registered 15, Overway had 12 and Decker added 11. All three of these players also shot at least 50% from the field.

The Trolls are now 10-16 overall and 6-13 in conference play. Trinity will be back on the court again on Saturday, Feb. 15 as they host Robert Morris. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
