Box Score The Trinity men's basketball team had their final non-conference contest of the season as they hosted the Moody Bible Institute Archers. After a close first half between the two teams, Trinity was able to come out with the win.
The Archers came out strong, keeping the game close at the start. But toward the end of the first, the Trolls pulled ahead as they led with a score of 35-25 at the half. From there, Trinity kept the lead and ultimately won the game 74-53.
Freshman Vince Overway led the way for Trinity, tying his career-high with 18 points. He went eight for 13 from the field while also contributing four rebounds, two assists and a block. Also helping on offense for Trinity was freshman Erik Cohn and junior Jerry Keys, who scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Senior Deantre DeYoung and junior Josh Decker both tied for the most rebounds with six. Redshirt sophomore James Pennington led the team in assists with five while freshman Nurell Lacey grabbed the most steals with three.
The Trolls are now 11-17 overall and 6-14 in conference play. They will be back on the court tomorrow night as they travel to Governors State for a CCAC contest. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
